Go Green with RTA on Aug. 24
Live Green Fest to feature
music, food and more
Is this your year to go green? If you need a little help, head to Carillon Park on Sunday, Aug. 24, for Greater Dayton RTA's "Live Green Fest" from 1 to 6 p.m. Experience workshops on eco-action choices, transportation alternatives, and organic cooking while you enjoy live music and great food.
Live Green Fest will bring together environmental activists, committed businesses and organizations dedicated to increasing awareness and use of green products and services.
"Live Green Fest is about highlighting solutions to help overcome the environmental challenges we face today," says Mark Donaghy, RTA Executive Director.
RTA will offer free rides all day long on Aug. 24 as well as special discounts on passes during the event and at the festival only: monthly passes will go for $30 and weekly passes for $10, which are deeper discounts than its regularly discounted rates of $45 and $15.
The one-day festival aims to please individuals and families by providing something-for-everyone events dovetailed with music, family entertainment, and interactive green exhibits.
Eco-fabulous workshops will include:
- Free, relaxing yoga class
- Recycling - you know you should!
- Green homes by Litehouse
- Dave Secor's smart electric car
- Healthy and tasty cooking demonstrations by chefs from Artisans Café and others
- How to ride the RTA - it's easier than you think!
